What To Wear in the Dog Days of Summer

Don't you dread figuring out how to look calm, cool, collected and professional when it's hot enough to fry an egg on the driveway and the humidity is so high it feels like you are in the steam room when you open your front door?  Even though my workplace is air-conditioned, I still have to get there and also get to clients' homes.  With a good month of hot sticky weather left in Charleston, I am reaching for all white clothes, preferably loose and made of linen or cotton. Thin gold hoops, long lightweight necklaces and a stack of thin cool bangles on the wrist are about the only accessories I can stand touching my skin.  Here are a few of my favorite looks for surviving the August heat in style:

White just makes me feel cooler for some reason.  Plus it looks great with a tan which I know I am not supposed to have but I can't help it.  There is something so St Barth's chic about an all white outfit with flat sandals and gold jewelry.  Maybe these hot days aren't so bad after all...

Happy Wednesday!
