There is much cross over between fashion and interior design in terms of inspiration so I like to check out the fashion blogs to see what their mood is for fall. One trend this fall is dusty pink and yellow- both colors that are almost as difficult to wear as to decorate your room in. Although I can't see myself wearing any of the above outfits, I can imagine using these colors together in a room but it would require some real skill to keep it from looking too candyland ish. What do you think about this combination?
Dusty pink and yellow or gold reminds me of the Sofia Coppola's version of Marie Antoinette.

Too much for you? Dusty pink with gold or antique brass is a more subtle take on the trend and is much easier to pull off. Here are a few examples of rooms that are beautifully done.
Its easy to imagine using pink and yellow in a girl's bedroom or nursery but I would love to see a dusty pink and yellow living room or dining room. The faded rose is such an old fashioned color but the yellow is modern, exciting and slightly dangerous. Putting the two together creates friction which is hard to control but can yield a fantastic result. So, come on design rompers, lets be daring and give it a go!
