I just can't seem to get enough color and pattern these days. There is something so energizing yet cozy about a room filled with multiple patterns in gorgeous colors. It would seem that I am not alone in my hunger for more. The October issue of Elle Decor features several homes with sumptuous rooms of pattern and color. So, let's romp through the Locust Valley home of Veronica Beard and the master bedroom of Robert Duffy's home in the Hudson River Valley, shall we?
This room stopped me dead in my tracks! Gutsy and bold yet warm and inviting. I absolutely love the mix of patterns and all of the layers here.
The fun continues in the hallway with an antique runner playing with striéd stripes:
The living room is a symphony of pattern with wallpaper, animal prints and chintz. What could have veered off into grandmotherly is somehow young and hip.
The breakfast room features stripes with a slew of different patterns on the window seats' throw pillows. This room would really get me going in the morning!
Meanwhile, across the Sound and up the river is another stunning home filled with pattern. This bedroom is filled with color and pattern and yet manages to still feel cozy and inviting.
Here are a few more rooms to inspire you to be bold and daring with pattern.
